SSD and SSI
January 11, 2009 by Guest
What is the difference between SSD and SSI? I always thought that SSD was for the ones that worked and made decent money? SSD paid you more than SSI and SSD was for the ones that were totally Disabled for life and will never work again. Can someone explain the difference for me?

Drawing SSD from Spouse credits
March 12, 2009 by Guest
I am 29 yrs old and unable to work due to chronic illness. I cannot walk more than 200 yrds. my doctor says I will not be able to resume work and am disabled permanently. However, I have been married since 19 (over ten years now) and was told I do not have enough credits for SSD. However my husband makes about 50,000 a year and so I cannot get SSI. I have been disabled for almost 4 yrs now and we are sinking financially from medical bills. I was told recently that I could get SSD based on my husband's work credits. Is this true? I can't find any concrete info on this but I have seen it mentioned.
Can I use my husbands credits to qualify for SSD?
