There aren't details in your question, so the answer depends on your situation.

The most "reliable" way to qualify for Social Security to to qualify based on your own work (earnings) record. Anyone born in 1929 or later needs 10 years of work (40 credits) to be eligible for retirement benefits.

You are eligible for reduced Social Security retirement benefits at age 62. Waiting until age 66.5 will increase your monthly retirement benefit.

If you are concerned about survivor benefits, if you remarry before you turn 50, you will not be entitled to survivor's benefits, unless the marriage ends.
